Recipes From The Attic

A couple of years ago I was digging through a box of papers and miscellaneous stuff at the flea-market when I came across an old journal. In this journal was a variety of handwritten recipes, autographs, and home remedies I thought, at the time, to be very strange. This strangeness became curiosity and that turned into amazement that someone at one time used these recipes. I was so intrigued by them I thought others should see them. I showed them around to other people and many thought as I did.. what an interesting book. And that is how this booklet came to be.

There was no author name just a bunch of poems and rhymes with a sprinkling of dates to someone named Ruth. So with my amazing skills of deduction I figured, maybe, Ruth wrote most of the recipes and such. So, thank you Ruth, where ever you may be.

I personally wouldn’t recommend using any of the recipes in this booklet. Not that you couldn’t use them. It’s fairly certain they were used by someone at one point in time. The reproduction of these recipes and remedies are meant to be enjoyed as a bit of nostalgia and humor.
